How does MLB Playoff Bracket work?

The Major League Baseball (MLB) Playoff Bracket represents the postseason tournament structure. Let’s quickly explanation of how it Works:

The MLB playoffs are divided into several rounds:

  1. Wild Card Game: The two Wild Card teams from each league (American League and National League) play a single elimination game. The winner of each game advances to the Division Series.
  2. Division Series (DS): This is a best-of-five series. In each league, the winner of the Wild Card Game and the three division winners (East, Central, and West) play in this round. The team with the best record plays against the Wild Card Game winner, and the other two division winners play each other. The two winners of these series in each league advance to the Championship Series.
  3. Championship Series (CS): This is a best-of-seven series. In each league, the winners of the Division Series play each other. The winner of this series in each league is crowned the league champion and advances to the World Series.
  4. World Series: This is the final round of the MLB playoffs and is a best-of-seven series. The champions of the American League and National League face off. The team that wins four games first is declared the World Series Champion.

The bracket depicts this progression, with teams moving forward in the bracket as they win their series. It’s an easy visual tool to track the advancement of teams through the MLB postseason.
